TEXT: JUDGES 4:1-9
1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
We want to speak about a mother in bible history this morning, one who we probably don’t often think about. Deborah was “a mother in Israel”, which might seem like an unusual term. In The Church of God we think of our spiritual mothers as those who have been faithful and have sometimes gone through severe battles, nourishing those that endeavor to live for Christ. “A mother in Israel” is not a term often used in the “church world” today, but it ‘is’ a bible term and a wonderful description of a faithful mother! This morning I would like to ask our mothers here, to meditate on, and ask yourself, “Can I be a mother in Israel?” This is God’s desire for you!

We all have desires, ...and most all of us will probably get what we want!
TEXT: GENESIS 3:1-6
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The woman, and her husband disobeyed, ..and got what they “wanted!” Most all of us do, unless forced to admit something, etc., ..against our will. If you obey God, or disobey God, it’s because you want to! All of us get what we want. Some don't like what they get, …others though will!

TEXT: II TIMOTHY 3:1-5, 12-15
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The above scripture list some serious “heart” conditions present in these “last days.” This list is not only of “things” in the absence of a spiritual condition. These conditions were also attended by a spirit. And that spiritual condition was one of having a “form” of godliness, ..without power!

Worthy is The Lamb! Who else is worthy? Who else deserves the praise for our lives? We couldn’t live a life of holy praise, before God made us worthy by His blood. I Corinthians 1:24,25,27,28 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.You bring condemnation upon yourselves, when you “say” God is worthy, ..but continue to live a sinful life. So often the ways people “worship” (confessing to a priest their sins, etc.) is still under the bondage spiritually, of the Old Testament manner of living, ...and not really free from sin.
TEXT: II CORINTHIANS 13:1-6
1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.0
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
Reprobates, here, means to fail to pass the test. How also could you say “Know ye not that Christ is in you,” ..except you pass the test? If you don’t pass the test, you then know where you stand.” What is the test?

TEXT:ECCLESIATIES 1:1-11
1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

Matthew 28:1-8, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12, & John 20:1-16 What is the big deal? ...The Messiah came to earth! Those spoken of in these times, when ‘the above four recorded gospel versions’ took place, had hopes on earth for Jesus to reign as their king of the Jews. But then, Jesus was crucified on a cross, “seemingly” killing all their hopes of that coming to pass. Yet after, He arose on the third day! Today, Christ is still arising in hearts that have ‘chosen’ to be redeemed out of all sin!
It’s a personally happy Easter, if Christ has arisen in ‘your’ heart! For all souls attending here this morning that are truly a Christian, are already a participant of a spiritual resurrection! ‘If’ you are spiritually resurrected, you can participate in a very special way, because ‘your’ resurrection day has already come!
This day is the celebrated anniversary of our Lord’s rising from the dead! For it is a reminder of what God has already done in our hearts! A ‘spiritual’ resurrection enables us to ‘participate’ in the glory of Christ’s rising from the dead. Bro Goble shared that he can remember the day, hour, and place his spiritual resurrection took place. Many of you also remember the details of this event in your life. At least in general the time of year it took place in your heart! ‘That’ is what makes Easter so very special to the Christian, based on that one’s participation having already taken place.
TEXT : JOHN 20:24-25
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
Thomas was having difficulty to believe, but he like us all have, needed a spiritual resurrection for himself. Christ gracefully helped Thomas to “conceptualize” it in order to believe in His resurrection, by having Thomas to physically touch His pierced hands and side. Essentially by Thomas actually ‘observing’ the resurrection evidence. Thomas shows how all of our experiences are, 'before we experience' a spiritual resurrection.

TEXT: JOHN 11:17-27, 34-44
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
As this scripture here records, before Jesus died and had arisen, Lazarus had already been raised from the dead, through Him. It also takes Christ to raise us up from the death of sins, in order to arise above them. It is a ‘choice’ that you must embrace, that is already paid for by the sacrifice He made for your deliverance. You ‘might’ mistakenly think, that you are required to do nothing, but only verbally “believe” in order to be ensured of your soul’s Salvation.

Life, ..and everything we have is a gift. When we recognize that it is all through grace, it will help us to be thankful.
TEXT: GENESIS 6:8, 18
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee
and
PROVERBS 3:34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
The thought "Is Grace Resistible?" is considered in light of a popular theory in some religious groups that grace isirresistible. That would in error attempt to convey the meaning of a biblical ‘doctrine’ that promotes a “once saved, always saved” ..'mentality'. So in this message we are trying to establish an idea of what God's grace “really is.” Grace is not earned, but a gift! When we have it, it gives us spiritual power. Grace is power!

TEXT JOHN 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
Jesus was responding here in answer to those “questioning” Him to “reveal Himselfplainly”, (verse 24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly), even though He had made himself plain to all honest seekers. We need doctrine, as it is that which undergirds the “things” we live by. If doctrine becomes “casual” to us, ..things spiritually will begin to “unravel”.

God is not a respecter of persons, for any that are wanting, or waiting to be saved. We have no other truer guide than God’s word, the bible, which will keep us from any confusion, if we are sincere. Sadly very little truth is being brought over pulpits in modern religion. There is nothing like God’s Pure Word, which all true believers are not ashamed of, in any part thereof.
God’s word, as the road map for life, will keep us spiritually, if we allowit. I truly believe, just as many of you were on time this morning (in spite of “losing” an hour to daylight saving time), the Holy Spirit most certainly is, always on time, in His appearance in working amongst souls.
The Holy Ghost not only introduced Himself, in those earlier biblical times, but He is also here with us today, as the Spirit of Truth;
TEXT: ACTS 2:1-8
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
This scripture and others have been used to “prove” a point, in error, all through the ages, of mankind’s mentality in spirituality. Many have explained “the tongues” were of a language not understood by mere humans. But, that is not truly the truth, ..of this gift!

TEXT; ZECHARIAH 1:1-14
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
2 The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
11 And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
12 Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
13 And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
There comes a time individually, in spite of what the prophets have "delivered," to see the need to ensure we each ‘personally’ have a relationship with God. Men, including prophets, will not always be with us. God is described here, …as a jealous God!

A militant Church of God means that God’s people are going forth into battle for Christ! It is so, that the world can see their life convictions, delivered to rise above sin, as an absolute certainty. Freedom from above, that ‘no one’ can take away! It is a personal experience, which is the most powerful proof that a soul can possess!
TEXT: ISAIAH 40:28-31
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Often you might be running out of strength, in victoriously overcoming “the flesh and sin.” ..But God can make you as an eagle mounting up, when you ‘wait’ upon the Lord!

TEXT: EXODUS 17:5-10
5 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
Massah means temptation or tempting here, and Meribah means complaining. The very “children” God had often delivered, then tempted the Lord with their unbelief, demonstrated here with the question, (verse 7) “Is the Lord among us, or not?” This question is the subject of the message this morning. When the Amaleks (probably the Israelites most dangerous and deceptive enemies.. for seemingly no good reason), were to fight Israel, Moses’ answering decision for Israel’s unbelief is found in verse 9. Moses instructed Joshua to choose men to fight the enemy, and then declared that that he would be at the top of the hill (in “his” place, so all would know that God is among us). The Israelites challenged God’s presence by asking the above question, because of their unbelief, in spite of the many miracles of help God had already given them.

TEXT: MARK 2: 1-12
1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
There was not enough room here for any other, so much that this sick of the palsy had to be let down from the roof. (verse 4) This infirmed fellow had a tough situation, not having proved to have been healed from any previous methods. And so he was pressed to the point of extreme measures. To the point of having someone else, take for him such measures (again, verse 4) to ensure, he could be brought in the very midst of Jesus. All, in order so that he could be ‘there.’ We also, as in his example, need to ensure that we press close enough to Jesus. “The roof” is not close enough to be in the very midst of Christ!

Many are seeking after “something,” ..not really knowing what. Thank God we can know He, has the answers to all our needs! The vanities of this life, are only of empty substance. Ecclesiastes 1: 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher, all is vanity. And this in its great depths, is a description of the world’s condition, that we live in today!
There is no “human” way to really understand and apprehend the meaning of life. There are so many perspectives of “what takes place” (in the substance of life) making life seemingly an absurdity. Making life essentially with no meaning, beyond what is visually here, a vanity of vanities. Bro Goble shared some of a conversation he had with a man, who considered trying to apprehend the meaning of life’s values. He did not know how to apprehend God, so life to him, was in essence an absurdity. He considered suicide, in light of his thoughts. So in this conversation with Bro Goble, he asked, “What is the solution?” The scriptures define the needed answer. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. The man then asked, “How do I know that it is God, I should fear and not another?” Bro Goble shared that he understood his question, for he was once there himself. Then Bro Goble suggested he read through the 12 chapters of Ecclesiastes for a better understanding, or explanation of life’s true “lessons.” Life, ‘without God,’ is truly an absurdity! Yet, when you honor God, then life is truly meaningful! How can this happen? Stay on your knees before God, until you are given a personal revelation, and apprehend the dynamics of life’s meaning! When you have fulfilled this, you will have fully awakened spiritually, and be no longer in “life’s spiritual slumber.”
TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
AND
ACTS 17:16-23
16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?
20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
This period of time spoken of in the above text, was approximately 50 or 51 A.D. (Christ crucifixion was approximately 30 A. D.) It sounds like Paul here had a personal revelation from God. Verse 21 of Acts 17. These people had too much time “on their hands” to consider “new” or vain ideas (and nothing else!)

TEXT: MARK 10:17-27
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Jesus knew the real intent of this man’s heart and answered with a question, (verse 18). Then Christ further exhorted with the obvious requirements (commandments) to follow Christ. When the man claimed to have been obedient to all of these, was told by Christ that he still was lacking to do one thing.

TEXT: GENESIS 32:24-32
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
32 Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
There was a “wrestling match” going on here, as spiritually God has with us, …in our everyday life.

TEXT: PROVERBS 14:14-16& ACTS 2:1-4
Proverbs 14: 14-16
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
The backslider is said here, to be filled with his own ways. God also says here below, that His ways are not your (our) ways. (Isaiah 55:8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.) Our own ways are not a good thing to be filled with. It makes it too difficult to serve God. Strive to be filled, with only God’s way!

Are you willing to do or go wherever the Lord may lead you? So many say, "I’ll go to Africa, India," etc., but what about across the street? Be and stay encouraged! If you have no earthly riches, but you have the legacy of Salvation to share, you are of the richest indeed! Bro McCrainey shared how he regrets his young life being wasted by the deepest of sins, but is so glad that his son has had the benefits of a pure childhood, having been saved very young. It is a great blessing and encouragment to have served God from one ’s youth. For it is a certainty whatever we have “sowed” throughout our life, we shall surely reap. Galatians 6: 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Young people rejoice in your Salvation! It is not necessary to “taste” of deep sin, to later enjoy Salvation. When God dealt with him (Bro Mc Crainey shared) it was to tell him "he cannot play church” and have a genuine experience. Sin cannot satisfy and will always leave one discontented. For the pleasures gained in sin, only last a short time. Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; It shows in this scripture that Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God, because the pleasures of sin would only last for a while. Jesus is the only thing that will truly and fully satisfy, eternally!
TEXT HEBREWS 3:7-14
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Always listening to God’s exhortations, to heed against unbelief and the “hardening of our hearts,” is 'key' against us departing from the living God, and staying encouraged!

When we consider all God has done for us, in this last year that He has given us, we have so very much to be thankful for! It is in part because He has helped us to consider the measure of values and costs spiritually.
TEXT: ACTS 2:37-47
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Verses 38-40 Proclaims here the message that is the same for today...
